Reportback on the ZAD evictions from two participants in the medic block, plus reports on Mayday in Paris. Friends welcome!
Join us for an event for the release of Jackie Wang’s new book Carceral Capitalism. In this collection of essays, Wang illustrates various aspects of the carceral continuum, including the biopolitics of juvenile delinquency, predatory policing, the political economy of fees and fines, cybernetic governance, and algorithmic policing. Included in this volume is Wang’s critique of liberal anti-racist politics, “Against Innocence,” as well as essays on RoboCop, techno-policing, and the aesthetic problem of making invisible forms of power legible. The book’s conclusion also enacts a project of abolitionist poetics, which uses poetry to shatter the realism of the prison.
